Missions B

The Missions B Community is a designated freshmen area. The Missions B is co-ed by floor and consists of four, three-story buildings designed in a Spanish style with arches, white stucco walls and red tiled rooftops. A Community Director (CD), 12 Resident Assistants (RAs), aMissions Bnd a Resident Minister (RM) reside in this complex, with over 350 residents. Each floor houses approximately 30 residents in fully carpeted single or double rooms and provides two furnished lounge areas. University-provided televisions are located in one of the two lounges on every floor. Each resident has a bunkable extra-long bed [80 in.], closet, chest of drawers, desk and chair. In addition, each room has wireless internet and cable television access. There are two bathroom areas on each floor with toilets, sinks and showers. The third floor rooms have window seats and the four buildings surround a grassy quadrangle. The University Alcohol Policy designates Missions B as a no alcohol living area regardless of age or class status.

Vallley RA Office
The RA Office, located at the front desk of Mission Crossroads, is where you can find Resident Assistants working on programming efforts and performing their on-duty hours. Feel free to stop by and talk with any RA to discuss any concerns and ideas you may have for any of the Valley residence halls. The Valley RA duty hours are daily from 7:00PM - 12:00AM Sunday-Thursday, and 8:00PM – 2:00AM on Friday and Saturday.  You may contact the RAs at 619-260-4625.

Mission Crossroads Desk Services
The Mission Crossroads Desk is the center of activity for the Valley area. The front desk staff encodes room key cards, takes messages, gives information, provides vacuums and other sundries such as toilet tissue and trash bags for residents. If you need to mail any items, outgoing mail is picked up twice a day Monday through Friday. You can reach the Crossroads Front Desk at 619-260-4625

Valley Laundry Facilities
The Laundry Facilities includes 15 washing machines and 16 dryers thats are located on the first floor of Mission Crossroads. The cost for a load of laundry in the washer is $1.25 and dryers are $.50. You need to purchase a laundry card for $2.00 and you can replenish your money on the card in $5, $10, and $20 increments. The laundry card machine does not take $1.00 bills. You can purchase a laundry card using cash, debit card, or credit card. You can purchase a laundry card and/or reload money on your laundry card at the Add Value station, located on the wall right outside the Mission Crossroads Desk.

Missions Cafe and Fitness Center
This state-of-the-art 8,515 square foot, wellness-focused facility is located in the heart of Missions Housing. Designed to strengthen the minds, bodies and spirits of students, the fitness center features a yoga/pilates exercise room, cardio equipment, strength training and more. The Missions Cafe is a full-service coffee/juice bar and sandwich shop featuring an assortment of healthy food choice and late night snack options including fresh organic foods such as sandwiches, salads, plus frozen yogurt.

Missions B Housing Community Director: Joshua Coyne
Joshua Coyne is the Community Director for Missions B. He was born and raised in Syracuse, New York and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Niagara University in 2010 and went on to earn a Master of Science degree in College Student Personnel Administration from Canisius College in 2012. Joshua comes to USD with previous experience in residential life, housing operations, and Greek Life. In addition to working with the Mission Apartments Community, Joshua also co-advises the Residence Hall Association Executive Board. In his free time, he enjoys long-distance running and being active outdoors to enjoy the beautiful weather San Diego provides.

Missions B Resident Minister: Charles Mansour

Charles Mansour is a Resident Minister in the Valley (San Miguel 117). He graduated from University of Diego in 2007 and then went on to Providence College where he received a Masters in Education. Presently, he is pursuing his MA in Pastoral Ministry through Boston College.

Charles is a University Minister, and you can find him in his office in Maher 260 or in his apartment in Missions B. He excited to meet all the new freshmen, to be a resource for the residents, to help build community, and to be available for whatever needs come up this year. He is also thrilled to continue working with the RA's and to work with the weekly Emmaus faith sharing group.
