Deno Vaccher ’85 and wife Terri welcomed daughter Ava Marlene on July 24. Ava joins siblings: Denae, 9; Dominic, 7; and Natalie, 5. Deno works with his brothers, Paul Vaccher ’87 and Vince Vaccher ’88 in a family business called MarVac Electronics.  “God has been good to me and my family and he continues to bless us daily. My newborn Ava Marlene is proof of that,” Deno writes. … Holli (Hurley) Salazar ’88 (M.A. ’93) and spouse Daniel welcomed their first child, Kevin Gerard, on Feb. 10. Holli reports that Kevin has been sporting a USD sweatshirt since birth courtesy of his auntie, Heather Hurley ’84. … Michael J. Jackman VIII ’86 reports that he finally married a little less than two years ago and had his first child, a son named Michael John Jackman IX, on Oct. 2. After seven years as a loan officer and seven more in the computer industry, he received his elementary school teaching credential and still loves teaching in San Diego. ... Susan (Edwards) ’88 and Delmar ’94 (J.D.) Williams are the proud parents of twin sons Ben and Jack, born Feb. 12. They join Alyson, 5, and Delmar Jr., 3. … Amy (Froide) Bouton ’89 (M.A.T. ’90) welcomed daughter Sophie Froide Bouton in 2003. In 2005, Amy anticipates that her first book will be published by Oxford University Press. … Kelly (England) McElwain ’90 and husband Doug were blessed with their second daughter, Katherine Elizabeth, on May 21. Kate joins sister Taylor Anne, 2. Kate was baptized on July 11, and Kelly’s sister Erin (England) Acosta ’00 and brother-in-law Jeff were godparents. Also in July, with Kate just 7 weeks old, the family transferred from Palm Beach, Fla., to Pennsylvania where the half-acre backyard is quite different from the house on the lake. … Stephen Speer ’90, wife Julanne and children Colette, Nicholas and Lucas are happy to announce the birth of Thomas Charles on Feb. 22. Stephen is a mortgage banker and real estate developer in Chicago. … Carrie (Hess) Cassar ’91 and her husband, John, welcomed daughter Ella Gray Cassar on Sept. 5. ... Larissa (Watkins) Slomba ’91 says after teaching Spanish part time at USD from 1993 to 2003, she made a career shift and now is attending graduate school to become a speech pathologist. She also is a relatively new mother and loves it. Her 2-year-old daughter, Ashley Jewell, became a big sister to brother Keegan Scott who was born on Aug. 23. “Life is very good,” Larissa says. ... Laura (Hale) ’92 and Chris ’93 Homewood welcomed their first child, Zoe Grace, into the world on June 7. ... Tom Gambon ’93 and wife Angi had a baby girl, Madison Taylor, on April 27. Tom is director of finance for Cognitive Solutions, a barcode printer manufacturer in Golden, Colo.  Angi is a flight attendant for United Airlines. Tom and Angi live in Broomfield, Colo., and recently celebrated their third anniversary.  … Lisa (Chavez) Holland ’93 and husband Christian welcomed the birth of their first child, a little boy named Emery Christian, on Aug. 17. … Shannon (Mutch) Kilbane ’93 had Jack Glenn on Feb. 20. He joins sister Sarah Sidney, 4, and brother Kevin Robert, 2. The family lives in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Shannon and husband Chris both work for Amgen. … Amy (Jackson) Olson ’93 (J.D.) had a baby boy in the fall. “Being a mother is the most rewarding ‘job’ I’ve ever had,” she writes. … Craig Simpson ’93 and his wife, Allison, celebrated the birth of twins, son Logan and daughter Carly, in February 2004. Their older son, Tyler, finally has siblings. Craig is working as a major accident investigator for the Colorado Springs Police Department. … Susan (Torrey) Theocheung ’93 and her husband, Ted, had their first child, Aidan Andrew, on July 22. The family now lives in Los Altos, Calif. Susan is senior director of corporate communications for NetIQ, a world leader in systems management software. She and her husband enjoy cycling, swimming, skiing and tennis, and Susan is training for the San Francisco Marathon. … Erica (Garrett) DeLorme ’94 and husband John were blessed with a wonderful baby boy on March 3. His name is Hudson Stuart and he joins sister Kyle Elizabeth, 2. … Brian ’94 and Cristina (Fernandez) ’95 Drelicharz welcomed second daughter Sofia Isabel on June 1. Sofia joins big sister Anna, who turned 4 in May. … Timothy Earl ’94 (J.D.) celebrated the birth of his first son, Tyler Douglas, with wife Kim on Sept. 13. Timothy has become shareholder at Sullivan, Hill, Lewin, Rez & Engel. … Janice (Vander Stoep) O’Sullivan ’94 (M.A.) and her husband, Daniel, celebrated the birth of their third son, Emiliano Miles, on March 25. Big brothers are Sammy, 5, and Mateo, almost 2. … Tracey (Kovall) ’95 (J.D.) currently practices business and securities litigation at Paul Hastings in the Carmel Valley neighborhood of San Diego. Her husband, Timothy DeLange ’97 (J.D.) practices securities litigation at Bernstein, Litowitz, Berger & Grossman in Carmel Valley. The couple have a 3-year-old daughter named Sophia. Their second child, Aidan Patrick, was born Oct. 16. … Amanda (Sapienza) Loveland ’96 and husband John announce the birth of daughter Josephine Lierre on Oct. 21, 2003. … Kimberly (Johnson) Ramirez ’96 and husband Michael announce the birth of their daughter, Mikayla Kimberly, on April 19. Kimberly continues to work part-time at home for Budweiser and is enjoying her time with her new baby. She reports that motherhood is the greatest gift God could give her. … Shannon (Reidy) Diltz ’97 (M.Ed. ’01)  says after graduating in 1997 she began teaching at the elementary level in Chula Vista, Calif., while working on her master’s in curriculum and development at USD. She met her husband, Jeff Diltz, in 1998 while attending a celebrity golf tournament. They were married in 2000 in The Immaculata and moved to Newport Beach, Calif., where Shannon continued teaching. In 2000, they moved back to San Diego and Shannon became a stay-at-home mom to their first daughter. Their second child, daughter Mackenna Marie, was born Oct. 22. ... Ted Wilbert ’97 and his wife, Sarah, had their first child, Madeline, on June 3. … Kendall (Gaspar) ’98 and Frank ’98 Brown welcomed their first child, daughter Hayley Kamryn, on Feb. 25. … Shawn Lorenzo ’98 welcomed Kalanikuikahi on June 25. Kalanikuikahi joins Kahu’ike, 2. Shawn has been an air traffic controller in Atlanta for four years. He is planning to move back to Hawaii in the next four years. … Brian ’99 and Kelly (Keahey) ’99 Patterson welcomed first child Karlie Lynn on June 30. Brian is a financial consultant at Smith Barney while Kelly is a stay-at-home mom.  The family lives in Clovis, Calif. … Kristin (McMahon) Covarrubias ’00 and husband Eddie are happy to announce the birth of their first child, Victoria Lauren, on June 4. … Jennifer (Rodriguez Slipp) Baumann ’02 (J.D.) and her husband, Grant, welcomed their first baby, a beautiful, healthy girl named Rachel Kelsey, on June 1. … Kevin McCarthy ’02  married in 2002 and had his third daughter, Abigeal, on June 15. She joins Ashlyn, 7, and Kaelyn, 5. The family lives in Pahrump, Nev., and Kevin is a casino manager. He spent 11 years in the U.S. Navy, and is a Naval Reserve officer. … Jennifer (Potter) Comfort ’03 (M.A.) announced the birth of son Peter Robert on May 10.
