Carla Elkins was married in 1996. Son Andrew was born in
February 2000, and son Alexander joined him in August 2002.
Carla teaches first grade. … Erin (Humphreys) Eskew lives with her husband and their 2-year-old
daughter, Jordan, in Windsor, Colo. Erin enjoys staying at
home with Jordan, but also works part-time for the Federal
Bureau of Investigation. … Amy
(Marshall) Hamer (M.Ed. ’91)
celebrated her daughter’s second birthday on July 2. … Monica
(Martinez) Hernandez has
been teaching first grade for 14 years. She married her best
friend and colleague in 2002 and the couple have a beautiful
and extremely happy 10-month-old named Samantha Mariela. Monica
received a master’s degree in 1999 from the University
of La Verne.

Anne (Sprague) Culpon (M.Ed.) moved from Seattle to Helena,
Mont., in 2002 to raise her kids in a small town. Her children
are Alexandra, 9, and Matthew, 4. … After being a real
estate litigator in a solo practice, Karin (Keuilian) DeJauregui (J.D.) had a daughter, and her priorities
transitioned into a real estate transactional practice and
then a mediation practice. Now she is living a more peaceful
life as a mediator and mom of Jessica, 4, wife of husband John
and a follower of Jesus Christ.

Scott Blinn has been touring the United States and Europe
steadily since 1996. He just returned from a summer tour in
Belgium and Holland where he was married to wife Roxanne by
New Orleans musician Dr. John after Scott played at the Antwerp
Roots and Blues Fest. The couple have a son, Jackson, who now

Torykian ’94 recently competed in a National Golden
Tee Golf Video Game Challenge in Las Vegas at a bar called
Fran’s Fans. Eric, “sporting his lucky green
hat, finished in the top 10,” writes Brady. ... Christoph Kubitza (I.M.B.A. ’00) worked for Rain Bird
sprinkler manufacturing for 10 years, most recently as the
company’s international sales and marketing manager for
consumer products. He keeps busy attending Toastmasters, coaching
youth soccer and learning Portuguese. … Christine (Iverson) Riley lives in Escondido, Calif., with husband John
and two sons, Luke and Blake. … Dr. Greg Still, Brad Klos ’91

Setzer ’94 joined
34 others on a surf trip to Tavarua Island in Fiji in August.

returned to school. She received a teaching credential from

Tenge Law Firm in 1993. The firm handles all types of litigation,

He and wife Denise have two daughters, ages 9 and 7, and live
in Boulder, Colo. … James
Ward (J.D.) recently retired
from his position as a patent counselor for Space and Naval
Warfare Systems Command in San Diego. He is traveling and consulting

at USD, where she is working toward a master’s degree

live in Chula Vista, Calif., with sons Jonathan, 5 and Nicholas,

the mother of two boys, Hayden and Jack. … Charina (Davis) Luciani was married five years ago and now has three

She and her husband own a mortgage company, and Charina works
with an anti-aging company promoting its nutritional and skincare

Rieke is a stay-at-home

Jennifer (Messina)
Deitch lives in Mill Valley, Calif., with her
husband, Josh, and their 2-year-old daughter Jordan, or “Jojo.” The
couple opened the Café of Life Chiropractic Center in
2001, where they offer chiropractic services, Pilates and massage. “All
is well and we love serving our community,” Jennifer
writes. … Jay Janavice was commissioned a second lieutenant in the
Army National Guard in August. He will serve as a combat engineer
in North Carolina. When Jay is not serving in the Guard, he
is a social studies teacher. He also is working toward a master’s
degree in social science education. … Kenneth
Thiel founded Thiel Development to pursue
real estate acquisition and development opportunities in various
markets throughout the United States and the Caribbean.

$10 million, hired over 30 people and has sold the business
all in the past five years. He writes that he has probably
applied 100 percent of what he learned in the M.B.A. program

Nacu (M.A., Ed.D. ’98)
published her dissertation, “Story-telling — Project
Heart to Heart: A Means to Bridge Generational Gaps in Post-1965
Filipino Immigrant Families,” in 2002. She is president
and western region vice president of the University of the
Philippines Alumni Association. In June, she won an “Excellence
in Education” Asian Heritage Award. … Linda
(Lauffenburger) Timmons (M.A.)
and husband Nat have been living in Colorado Springs, Colo.,
since 1999. Nat is a hospice physician. Linda stays home with
their two girls, Lucy, 5, and Abby, 4. … Troy Zander (J.D.) joined Sheppard, Mullin as a partner
in the firm’s downtown San Diego office after nine years
at his prior firm. He continues to focus on commercial finance,
corporate matters and insolvencies.

Daniel Furleigh just returned from Tallil Air Base in Iraq
where he was in charge of the airfield and air traffic control
facilities in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Wife Trace
and he just celebrated their 10-year anniversary with a week-long
vacation in Hawaii. It was the first time they had spent a
week away from their four beautiful children: Taylor, 14; Brooks,
9; Clay, 7; and Brady, 6. … Kevin Schultz reports that he has been promoted to lieutenant
commander by the U.S. Navy on June 1. He and his family have
moved from San Diego to Ashburn, Va., and Kevin started work
at the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency in October.
... Joanne (Burnett) Valenzia and
husband Jeff live in South Korea with their two kids, Kaylee,
4, and Tyler, 8 months.

Jarrett Kotrozo recently moved from Phoenix to Troy, N.Y.,
and is attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to pursue
a doctorate in finance. … Casey
McCann has been married
three years to wife Jenny. The couple live in Long Beach, Calif.,
and have a dog, two horses, a boat and two houses. Casey has
been working as a senior loan officer for four years. … Christopher
Parta reports that 6-month-old son Liam is
keeping he and his wife extra busy as the family prepares to
move to Portland, Ore. Christopher will be attending law school
at Lewis and Clark College, and his wife will teach at Meadow
Park Middle School. They have bought a house and are looking
forward to moving in. … Noah
Stanley and his wife gave
birth to daughter Paige in December 2003. The couple have been
touring around the country with Paige to see family, and planned
to visit London and parts of Ireland with her in October. … Lisa
(Rigney) Teves is
her kids’ mom. She has 5-year-old twin daughters and
a 4-year-old son. Lisa celebrated her ninth wedding anniversary
with husband Larry on Aug. 19. Lisa reports that they are very
proud and happy to have a successful business in San Diego.

Maj-le (Tate) Bridges (J.D.) and husband Drew started their
own law firm, Bridges and Bridges, in January. It specializes
in higher education, business and employment law. … Kristen (Cornett) Kovac and Karl
Kovac (M.B.A. ’99) moved to Noosa, Queensland, Australia, more
than two years ago. They formed their own property development
company, KEP Ltd. Daughter Emma, 5, attends year prep
and son Tripp, 4, attends preschool. … Susan (Rush) Michael (D.N.Sc.) and husband Paul, an oncologist,
celebrated eight years of facilitating a cancer support group.
The group meets weekly and generally draws 25 to 30 people.
In May, Susan received the Presidents’ Award from Case
Western Reserve University’s Frances Payne Bolton School
of Nursing for her commitment and involvement in the community.

(Contreras) Jaimes ’98 baptized son Angel Ricardo at Founders Chapel

on domestic violence at North Carolina Central University Law
School. … Raymond Cameron (M.A.) has worked with San Diego County Child
Protective Services and with families at Phoenix House and
