Like a Hurricane
Jimmy Frkovich ‘09 credits his experiences with the Center for Community Service-Learning (CSL) for his successes in relationship-building in Afghanistan. CSL Associate Director John Loggins says that the staff at USD “learned and grew as much from him as he did from us.”
The Love of it All
Ali Cox ’01 decided to go full throttle, full time in order to make it to the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. Though the time commitment associated with such an auspicious endeavor is extensive to say the least, Cox revels in the challenge, rather than shrinking from it, saying, “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Closer to Fine
Fanny Maizel ’02 finds satisfaction in helping her clients cope during the very toughest time of their lives. Her work with San Diego Hospice is a required component of the master’s in counseling degree she’s working on at USD’s School of Leadership and Education Sciences. She says that the practicum lets her do what she loves best: interact with people.
Fall 2011 Class Notes
Get the latest news here from alumni from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. The classes of 1961, 1966, 1971, 1976, 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2006 will celebrate reunions during Homecoming 2011, which is scheduled for Sept 30 through Oct 2, 2011, and will be combined with Family Weekend.
USD alumni who submit a class note at classnotes@sandiego.edu before Jan. 15, 2011 will be automatically entered in a contest for an iPad 2.
