“Sustainability” has been one of the decade´s defining buzzwords, morphing into an umbrella term that means different things to different people. USD´s approach is simple, according to Director of Sustainability Michael Catanzaro. He explains, “It has three pillars: social, environmental and economic.” This issue explores the shifting of ideals, changing of behaviors and cultivation of a new-and-improved campus culture founded on an old idea: creating and maintaining quality of life for all people.
