The Clarence L. Steber Professorships are awarded annually to one professor each from the School of Business Administration and the Department of Theology and Religious Studies. The awards are to be used to promote professional development of the faculty member. Funds may be granted to augment salary, provide released time for research, provide summer support, support direct costs of research and publication, or other uses consistant with the purpose of the professorship. The professorship is normally held for the course of a single academic year. The Steber professors are recognized at the university's Fall Convocation of the Faculty and Administration.
SBA faculty who wish to be considered for the Steber Professorship present their credentials to their Dean. Theology and Religious Studies faculty should obtain a current copy of the Steber Professorship guidelines for that department from the Department Chair. A description of the Steber Professorship for Theology and Religious Studies is located here.
