PFLAG San Diego (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) Scholarship

Five scholarships of at least $1000 each will be awarded to LGBT applicants. For requirements and further information, please download here.

Scholarship Opportunity!

Point Foundation (Point) is the nation’s largest scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students of merit. Point provides financial support, leadership training, mentoring and hope to LGBT individuals who are marginalized because of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

We are currently accepting applications for a Point Scholarship. Attached is a general announcement and we would be grateful if you could pass it on to any email lists you may have as an organization in the LGBT community.

Scholarship Opportunity

Hi everyone:

I am the faculty rep of the Udall Scholarship. I have included some information about it in the following. If you would like to nominate candidates (sohpomores and juniors), please let me know. You can find more about this scholarship at http://www.udall.gov. Thanks.

In 2008, the Foundation expects to award 80 scholarships and 50 honorable mentions on the basis of merit to sophomore and junior level college students. Scholarships are offered in any of three categories:

  • To students who have demonstrated commitment to careers related to the environment; or
  • To Native American and Alaska Native students who have demonstrated commitment to careers related to tribal public policy; or
  • To Native American and Alaska Native students who have demonstrated commitment to careers related to Native health care.

The Udall Foundation seeks future leaders across a wide spectrum of environmental fields, including policy, engineering, science, education, urban planning and renewal, business, health, justice, and economics. The Foundation also seeks future Native American and Alaska Native leaders in public and community health care, tribal government, and public policy affecting Native American communities, including land and resource management, economic development, and education.

Greetings from the R. Scott Hitt Foundation

The R. Scott Hitt Foundation is offering two distinct internships starting SUMMER 2008!

In a nutshell - the student picks an organization THEY want to work at, the organization agrees to apply with them as a sponsor, upon approval of their application we pay the organization to pay the student over the course of the internship!

The R. ScottHitt Foundation is accepting applications for PAID INTERNSHIPS at pro-LGBT non-profit organizations that YOU want to work at!

THE SCOTT HITT INTERNSHIP:

  • Post-graduate Students Only
  • 7-9 MONTH long Internship (depending on sponsoring organization)
  • Restricted to United States
  • **Apply by April 1st, 2008**

The Process:

  1. Identify and meet with an organization that you would like to intern at that will sponsor your internship.
  2. Submit your personal application essay by the deadline posted on the R. Scott Hitt Foundation website.
  3. Submit the sponsoring organization's work-plan for your internship by the corresponding deadline (March 1st for ANGLE Internship, April 1st for SCOTT HITT Internship).
  4. Applicants will be notified as to the status of application by the dates posted on the website.
