Women’s Preview: U.S. vs. Mexico

New York Times -- As the United States women’s national team prepares to play Mexico on Sunday in its final domestic World Cup tune-up match, some of the players on the other side of the field will probably look familiar.

Mexico has numerous Mexican-American players, including a few who play or have played in American colleges.

Alina Garciamendez, a star defender at Stanford, is from Texas. Natalie Vinti and Natalia Garcia play for the University of San Diego. (Full Story)
