Robert E. O'Connell, III ('82) is an internationally recognized fine art expert within the insurance industry and is currently President of O'Connell International Arts, Inc. He is also the co-founder and a partner in the Architrouve, a Chicago-based gallery dedicated to the exhibition, collecting and support of Chicago artists. Mr. O'Connell will discuss the rescue and transport of Jackson Pollock's "Mural" at the University of Iowa Museum, and the ethical and legal issues concerning the proposed sale of the painting by the Iowa State Legislature.
Panelist Dr. Ariel Plotek is an Assistant Curator at the San Diego Museum of Art. Most recently he was the curator of Toulouse-Lautrec’s Paris: Selections from the Baldwin M. Baldwin Collection at the San Diego Museum of Art.
