Outdoor Adventures Pre-Orientation

Drop Shadow

Welcome, Class of 2018!

Welcome to the University of San Diego! Outdoor Adventures (OA) is a program of Student Affairs that serves the USD community by fostering personal growth, leadership development and skills training through safe, environmentally sound trips in a supportive community. OA is a hub for people interested in living an active, outdoor lifestyle that strives to create a balance between humanity and the natural world. OA outings inspire people to care about the environment and we want our graduates to develop into environmental stewards of our planet.

OA offers a variety of local and regional outings. Local excursions that take place during the evening or on weekends allow you to discover San Diego. Overnight camping trips and outdoor recreation classes offer opportunities to experience the dramatic landscapes of the west. Our Guide Development Program provides students with the skills and experience to lead peers on adventure trips. We also operate a rental shop that provides outdoor recreation equipment and trip planning resources for individuals and groups that choose to venture on their own excursions.

This August, Outdoor Adventures is sponsoring eight trips designed to help new students transition to USD feeling more confident and prepared. Trips range from four to six days in length and include a variety of activities and levels of challenge. See the trip descriptions for additional information.  Financial aid is available to students receiving significant need-based financial aid.

From the mild to the wild, OA is as adventurous as you are!
