Pre-O Adventure is very popular and we are excited to offer more trips this year!  The registration is open. The Channel Islands I trip is full.  Channel Islands II is available first come, first serve.  The rest of the spots on the six pre-orientation trips that take place right before orientation are available through a lottery process with trip assignments based on your stated preferences.

Students will be notified on June 18th of their standing in the lottery. We have moved this deadline (was June 10) because of a delay in the mailing sent to first-year students.  Any additional spaces available after June 17 will be filled on a first come first serve basis.  We have had a waitlist in years past, so we recommend you complete your application before June 18 to improve your chances of going on a Pre-O Adventure trip.

Contact explore@sandiego.edu if you have any difficulties registering.

  • Cancellations before June 20, will receive a full refund minus a $50 cancellation fee.
  • After June 21 but 14 days prior to your trip’s starting date, you will receive a 50 percent refund.
  • Fourteen days prior to the trip starting date and throughout the duration of the trip, all trip fees are non-refundable.
If Outdoor Adventures cancels a trip (which rarely happens), participants have the the choice of a full refund or an alternative trip, if possible.

Welcome to USD and we hope you can join us!  But if you can't make a trip, don't worry!

Outdoor Adventures offers overnight trips to some amazing locations in addition to great day trips around San Diego.  Some of our most popular trips take place during Fall Holiday in October, over Thanksgiving and Spring Break.

We also offer a student leadership training program for everyone interested in guiding OA trips.  Stop by UC 136 and say hello when you get to campus!
