In recognition of the well documented health advantages of breastfeeding for infants and mothers, the University of San Diego provides a supportive environment to enable breastfeeding students and employees to express their milk during school/work hours.
The University of San Diego supports breastfeeding mothers by providing the following locations as private, comfortable rooms for them to nurse, or express milk for their babies. All Rooms are equipped with
- a gliding chair
- Electrical outlet
- Sink or cleaning supplies
- Literature regarding breastfeeding
Neither a pump nor refrigerator is provided. Mothers are responsible for transportation and proper storage of milk and bringing their own equipment, storage containers and cooler.
