About the Outing

The National Park Service’s centennial year is here, and OA wants to encourage everyone to take part in the celebration. We invite the Class of 2020 to discover the national parks of California through volunteerism. Students will volunteer in the scenic Tuolumne Meadows against a backdrop of rugged mountain peaks and glacially carved domes. They will be a part of a volunteer program in Tuolumne Campground, in addition to touring the iconic Yosemite Valley and Glacier Point- inspiring ownership, stewardship, and awareness of the National Park in our very own backyard. This challenging adventure requires students to perform physically demanding work outdoors and in return have the satisfaction of seeing their efforts pay off by making a positive impact in the park-all while enjoying a week of spectacular scenery and campsite camaraderie.
