Harvard University
Viridiana Rios is PhD candidate in the Department of Government at Harvard University, and a doctoral fellow in Inequality and Criminal Justice at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She studies drug trafficking, violence and politics in Mexico using formal modeling, statistical inference and journalistic accounts. In particular, she addresses issues on government corruption, the structure of organized crime and illegal labor markets. She is also a biweekly columnist for Este Pais (http://estepais.com/site/), a current events magazine distributed nationally in Mexico.
