Radhika Coomaraswamy
“Children and Armed Conflict: The International Response”

On May 9, 2011, Radhika Coomaraswamy offered an in-depth look at her work as United Nations
Under-Secretary-General and Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict. In this role she leads leads global campaigns to protect children in twenty-two different conflict zones. Coomaraswamy, a lawyer by training and formerly the chairperson of the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission, is an internationally known human rights advocate.
