Marcia Freedman, founding president of Brit Tzedek v'Shalom, served in the Knesset from 1973 through 1977, where she spoke for women's issues and raised concerns that had never been publicly discussed in Israel. Brit Tzedek v'Shalom, the Jewish Alliance for Justice and Peace, seeks to educate and mobilize American Jews in support of a negotiated two-state resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In 1977 Freedman co-founded the Women's Party. Freedman also was one of the founders and leaders of the feminist movement in Israel in the early '70s.
