Report on Mexico Human Rights Abuse Calls for Reforms

U-T San Diego -- As allegations of human rights abuses by Mexico’s military have multiplied over the past five-and-a-half years, a new report is calling for civilian oversight of these cases, and recommending legislative action to make sure this happens.

The Trans-Border Institute at the University of San Diego today is releasing a report urging Mexico’s incoming president, Enrique Peña Nieto, and the country’s new Congress to support revisions to the country’s code of military justice. (Full Story)
