His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
“Cultivating Peace and Justice”
On April 19th, 2012, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet closed the 2011-2012 Joan B. Kroc Distinguished Lecture Series with a dynamic discussion on “Cultivating Peace and Justice.”
Before his talk, University of San Diego President Mary Lyons presented His Holiness with the Medal of Peace in acknowledgement of his contributions to peacemaking in international arenas. He then addressed more than 4,700 people in the Jenny Craig Pavilion with his wide-ranging lecture on peace — from the personal to the political — and understanding the connections between people of different faiths, nationalities and socio-economic levels.
