Advancing Essential Conversations in Nepal

Responding to requests made in January 2010 by political leaders, women activists and civil society members, teams from the IPJ returned to Nepal to conduct a series of communication and negotiation trainings in May and November 2010. IPJ staff members Dee Aker and Chris Groth will report on the results from these trainings, which included youth leaders, women from smaller political parties, security officials and a range of professionals from media, academia, business and civil society. Aker and Groth will also discuss the IPJ’s expanded work in the southern Terai region along the Nepal-India border, as well as report on follow-up meetings held in several rural villages to assess the long-term impact of the IPJ’s 10 years of peacebuilding work in Nepal.
