The Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice invites you to “Through Her Eyes: Critical perspectives from the girl child today” to hear from girls around the globe and learn about the way they see their world in 2010.

In 1995, non-governmental organizations and representatives of the world’s governments convened to hold the fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China. Cumulating in the seminal Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the assembled representatives identified 12 critical issues facing women. At the center of those issues was the plight of the girl child. Fifteen years later, what has changed?  Video testimony from girl children in six countries will be supported by local and international speakers and a global update from the 2010 UN Commission on the Status of Women.

Tickets: $22, general admission; $8, discounted student ticket. $200, table of 10. Purchase tickets online at http://peace.kintera.org/iwdb
