Ruth Soberanes

Promotions Assistant

Ruth is currently a senior at the University of San Diego. She is majoring in International Relations and Spanish with a minor in Peace and Justice Studies.  Having grown up 3 hours from the Mexican border in Phoenix, Arizona with Mexican parents, Ruth developed an interest in Mexican-American relations. She has pursued this interest by volunteering with various nonprofit organizations based in Mexico such as “Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos”, studying Mexican politics, and working for the Trans-border Institute.

Ruth began TBI as an intern fall 2008. As an intern she assisted in the Justice in Mexico Project as well as providing support for the various conferences and events held by TBI. Upon returning from a semester of studying abroad, Ruth rejoined the TBI team as the promotions assistant.
