 Naupess Kwabene KibiswaImage A native of the Democratic Republic of Congo (“DRC”), Naupess has extensive experience in healthcare management, collective bargaining on behalf of public sector unions, and advocating for  fundamental human rights.  Naupess holds a B.A. in Management of Health Institutions from the Higher Institute of Medical Techniques in Kinchasa and has served as a health care manager and union leader.  Naupess earned his M.A. in Peace Studies at the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies as a  Fullbright Scholar and Ghandi Fellow.  Following his graduation from USD, Naupess continued his research in peace-building at American University’s School of International Service in Washington, D.C.  Upon his return to the DRC, he served as the Project Coordinator for the DRC Workers’ Project against HIV/AIDS and resumed his leadership positions with the African Center for Peace, Democracy, and Human Rights, as well as a confederation of public sector unions.  In 2008, Naupess assumed the role of Deputy National Coordinator of the DRC Amani (peace) Program in Kivus.  Most recently, Naupess has returned to the United States to enroll in a doctoral program in a Conflict Analysis and Resolution at Nova Southeastern University. Joseph Kioi Mbugua (Nairobi, Kenya) Works as the Executive Director of Peacebuilding International, a Kenyan registered NGO, implementing Kenya post election violence peacebuilding programmes and offering consultancy services for UNDP Kenya, Ministry of Youth Affairs, Practical Action (Formerly ITDG)and PeaceNet-Kenya. He has trained rural communities in Kenya on peacebuilding and has worked as a consultant in Ethiopia, Uganda and Sudan. Mr. Mbugua has continued to interact with members of Rotary club of district 9200 and he is a member of Fulbright Alumni Association of Kenya. Email: kioimbugua@yahoo.com
