Alumnus Tapped by Governor Brown
California Governor Jerry Brown recently tapped James Waring, a 2004 alumnus from the University of San Diego’s (USD) Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, to join the California Transportation Commission. The 11-member transportation commission sets policy and funding priorities for state highways and passenger rail projects throughout the state.
Mr. Waring is the Executive Chairman and Co-founder of CleanTECH San Diego, a local member-based trade organization dedicated to accelerating clean technology development in San Diego and positioning the region as a global leader in the clean-tech economy. Until recently, he served on the Dean’s inaugural Advisory Board for the School of Peace Studies. He and his wife, Kathy, are also graduates from USD’s School of Law.
