Jane Ellen Bergman Memorial Lecture Series Presents Cherie Blair

"Forging the Future: Human Rights, Justice and the Law"

Cherie Blair—human rights barrister, part-time judge and wife of former Prime Minister Tony Blair—gives her perspectives on life, learning and the law. She discusses highlights from her own career and explains the critical role of lawyers in promoting human rights and rule of law to create a more equitable and sustainable future.

• Visitors may take the event tram to the venue, or walk up the hill.
• If you prefer to walk, Mother Rosalie Hill Hall (SOLES Building) is a five-minute walk up the hill and is the first building on the left.

From the South (Downtown, Convention Center)

• Use I-5 (North) to I-8 (East) and exit at the first exit, Morena Blvd.
• Follow Morena Blvd, and bear right onto Linda Vista Road.
• Make a left at the 1st stoplight on Linda Vista Road onto Marian Way, USD's West Entrance.

Founded in 2008, the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women works to strengthen the capacity of women entrepreneurs in countries where they lack equal opportunities. About the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies

The Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies (KSPS) works for sustainable peace and justice through innovative education, interdisciplinary scholarship, advanced practice and policy engagement. The master’s curriculum in Peace and Justice Studies is interdisciplinary and involves faculty from USD’s other schools as well as utilizing the school’s own core faculty, curriculum, dedicated facility and students. Areas of focus include conflict analysis and resolution, human rights and development. KSPS students also benefit greatly from the school’s two practice-oriented institutes: the Institute for Peace & Justice and the Trans-Border Institute.
