The conference will explore the rapidly changing business environment in Africa, the myriad of opportunities that this presents, and the challenges likely to confront those wishing to engage in, or already engaged in, business ventures that have an African focus.

The idea for the conference was birthed out of recognition that the prevailing image of Africa is not one that is conducive to business, and the role that this image plays in perpetuating many of the economic and social issues that the continent faces. Although many African economies have been experiencing sustained economic growth at a time when the global economy has been slowing down, many remain unaware of this growth and the opportunities that it represents.

The theme of the conference is “The Time is Opportune.” Discussions will cover relevant and practical topics, ranging from the social and cultural environment to the increasing involvement of China and India. Emphasis will be placed on sociall responsible, sustainable business that helps to move the continent forward.

The conference will be held at Schoenberg Hall at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) on March 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. You must register to attend.
