You are cordially invited to attend a lecture presented by Dr. Lawrence A. Herzog (an adjunct professor in Sociology this semester) entitled "The Contradictions of Globalization: Examples from Mexico and Brazil"

Lecture topic:  Globalization is the buzzword of the 21st century—a world of mega-cities, skyscrapers, cutting-edge digital technologies.  But globalization discourse must acknowledge deeper contradictions.  This lecture will review several challenges facing globalizing cities, from the Mexican border to Brazil.

Dr. Lawrence Herzog is Professor and Chair of the Graduate Program in City Planning, School of Public Affairs, SDSU.  He is author/editor of six books on cities and globalization, a former Fulbright Scholar in Peru and the United Kingdom, and has been a consultant to numerous agencies in Latin America, including the U.S. Agency for International Development.
