Send official sealed transcripts documenting each course taken beyond the high school level (whether or not within a degree program) and all degrees awarded. Foreign transcripts must be accompanied by a course-by-course transcript evaluation from World Education Services (WES).

  • Two Letters of Recommendation (one from a professor or individual who can attest to your academic capabilities and one letter from a work supervisor or similar)

English Language Proficiency Requirements*

*International applicants only. *Please note that USD is starting the MA in Social Innovation program in the academic year 2017/2018, and the program is still in the application process with the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) to obtain the certification to issue the Form I-20, Certificate of Eligibility for F-1 student visa. Applicants who require a student visa are welcome to apply for the MASI program for fall 2018. *International applicants who currently reside in the US as dependents of employment-based visa holders, such as H1-B, L-1, L-2 or H-4, are not restricted from joining the program for the 2017/2018 academic year if admission is granted.

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is mandatory for all applicants educated outside the United States. The test can be waived if English is your primary language or you have obtained a bachelor's degree from the U.S., Great Britain, Canada or Australia. Other exceptions can be made on a case by case basis.

  • TOEFL: 83
  • IELTS: 7
