Julia Fleury is the Executive Assistant at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice
providing administrative and communication support to the Executive Director, the Associate
Director for Peacemakers Programs, as well as to the institute’s different programs and events.

Before joining the institute, Julia served as the Program Coordinator for the Intergroup Dialogue
Project at Cornell University, a social justice program designed to empower students to
communicate and collaborate across social, cultural, and power differences. Julia has also
worked/interned with different humanitarian nonprofit organizations/programs focusing on issues
of refugee resettlement, resettlement services, and language acquisition predominantly in the
Chicago area, but in D.C. and France as well.

Julia obtained her MPA in Human Rights and Social Justice from Cornell University’s Institute
for Public Affairs in 2016 where she centered her academic research on migration and refugee
resettlement in the United States. Julia is particularly interested in the ways that policy affects
issues of identity and vice-versa, and how this ultimately influences the resettlement experience.
Julia holds her BA in Anthropology and International Studies from Loyola University Chicago.
