Loading Zones and Metered Spaces

There are a multitude of loading zones across campus. These spaces are for active loading/unloading only. All loading zones are designated for15 minutes unless otherwise marked.

Timed spaces are available in different areas of campus to allow quick parking for certain buildings. There are timed spaces behind the University Center, the Bookstore and by the swimming pool. These spaces are marked with the allowed time. You may not overstay the marked time. Also, moving from one space to the next is not allowed.

Parking at Meters

Meters require payment at all times of operation (see below).All employees, students, and visitors(including those with a valid USD parking permit displayed) must pay meter.

Location	10 Meters are located in the University Center North Lot
Pay the correct fee	$1 per hour in nickels, dimes, or quarters, up to a 2 hour max. Meters must be paid Monday-Friday 7AM-10PM Meters are free on weekends and from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., weekdays.
Never park at a broken meter	Treat a broken meter as if it were a "no parking" sign. Never park at a meter that: Flashes “failed” or other error message Has a coin jam Appears broken
Park front-end first in metered spaces	Avoid the risk of backing into and damaging the meter and your vehicle
