The United Front Multicultural Center (UFMC) engages the University of San Diego community in exploring and affirming the unique identity of each person. The Center fosters an environment where student leaders feel empowered to become change agents for social justice and builds relationships with faculty, staff and students to develop a foundation that honors and values diversity. The UFMC serves as an educational resource, working to contest prejudice and intolerance and works to enact the values of the University as “a welcoming, inclusive and collaborative community…marked by protection of the rights and dignity of the individual.”
The Center provides a variety of services and resources to the USD community. We provide a safe and welcoming space where students can study, relax or meet with friends. We also provide academic resources such as an interactive workstation (TeamSpot), computers, study and meeting space, internship and scholarship information, and a library with more than 1,000 books, journals, and DVDs.
The UFMC also supports 14 multicultural student organizations which include Asian Student Association, Association of Chicana Activists, Black Student Union: Brothers & Sisters United, Chaldean American Student Association, Ethnic Studies Student Organization, Filipino Ugnayan Student Organization, International Student Organization, Jewish Student Union, Movimiento Estudiantil Chicana/o de Aztlán, Muslim Student Association, Native American Student Organization, People of the Islands, PRIDE and South Asian Student Association. These organizations are unique expressions of the different micro-cultures that exist at USD and enrich our learning environment.
The primary objective of the UFMC is to contribute to the creation of a campus environment which respects and supports diversity and pluralism by striving to improve communication within and among individuals and groups in order to strengthen understanding and awareness of diversity. The UFMC embraces diversity of age, ability, economic status, ethnicity, race, gender, race, religion and sexual orientation.
The University Ministry Center strives to nourish, support, and challenge the faith development of all members of the USD community. Through diverse partnerships across campus, University Ministry works to foster an intellectual environment in which USD students’ academic and social development is amplified through complementary spiritual growth.
Persons of all religious traditions and those still searching for their religious identity are invited to take part in University Ministry’s liturgies, programs, activities, and services. In addition to a vibrant Roman Catholic sacramental life, University Ministry offers immersion trips, local service opportunities, retreats, small faith-sharing communities, pastoral counseling and companionship, scripture study, and all-faith services.

The USD Women’s Center empowers women to engage as leaders in a diverse and changing world. We are a student-centered learning community that provides resources and engages women and men in educational dialogue around gender-related issues. We are an advocate for a safe, supportive campus environment that creates equity among all voices.
Multiple leadership opportunities are available through the Center for students interested in addressing gender inequality. In addition to offering educational programs and events, the Women's Center provides resources such as the Mother’s Room for nursing mothers and a lending library of over 300 titles of books and DVDs.
