The Parent Partnership Fund: Bridging the Gap
Unexpected financial hardship can be very difficult for
families when they have a student in college. Three years ago the
USD Parents Association Board created the Parent Partnership Fund after
discovering many students who had fallen on unexpected financial
hardship could not afford to return to USD and finish their
degree. With the average need being approximately $2,700, the
Parent Board knew they could make a difference. Click here to read more about the Parent Partnership Fund.
Freshmen Leadership Course
We want our students to get involved right away at USD!
One of the best ways to do that is through the Emerging Leaders
class, a 2-credit introductory leadership course for
freshmen. It is a collaborative program with the Department
of Leadership Studies and the Student Leadership and
Involvement Center. This course provides an introduction to
leadership concepts relevant for being a student leader at
USD. It is designed to provide exposure to different involvement
opportunities, engage in leadership, and provide a basic
understanding of leadership concepts and models from an
academic perspective. Encourage your student to register for
the Spring 2014 Emerging Leaders course, LEAD 161, through
the MySanDiego Portal.

With the Thanksgiving Holiday around the corner,
Residential Life shares a few things to remember as your
student makes their way home. Click here

Email Outreach Campaign Parents
and families whose student began at USD just this Fall 2013 can expect
an email from a Parents Association Board member or a Parent Ambassador.
The email is meant to connect you with another USD parent and offer
support in your student's transition, offering peer-to-peer
advice. Also remember the Office of Parent Relations is available to answer your questions and discuss any concerns.
Send Your Torero A Care Package
