The Office of Parent Relations hosted the Parent/Family Spring Transfer Orientation and Reception for families of 200 newly enrolled transfer students many of which are also freshmen and international students. On-Campus Housing Sign-Ups
Returning student housing sign-up begins Feb. 3, 2014 through Mar. 3, 2014. Resident students should submit a $250 nonrefundable prepayment to the cashier in Hughes Administration Center in the form of cash or check by Mar. 3, 2014 by 4p.m., and complete an online application. USD Parent Corps Service Project: February 21 Join the USD Parent Corps as they foster the USD spirit of philanthropy throughout the local community in their annual service project! In partnership with the organization Rebuilding Together, the USD Parent Corps will be fixing up two homes. Volunteers are needed to help paint, garden, and do general clean up. If you would like to participate, contact the Office of Parent Relations at firstname.lastname@example.org by Feb. 15. There is a $25 donation per person to contribute towards the cost of supplies and materials.
Phoenix Torero Club Announcing the Phoenix Torero Club! We’re excited to announce the founding of the Phoenix Torero Club, an effort to bring together all USD alumni, parents and friends in the Phoenix area. USD is looking for 1 Phoenix – area parent to be the official parent liaison in the area. Click here for information and to apply for this volunteer position. Opportunities to Study Abroad Students interested in studying abroad this summer and in the coming fall should visit the International Studies Abroad Office located in Serra Hall, Room 315. Commencement is fast approaching! Commencement is May 24-25, and it's just around the corner! Get ready and make the best of this family event. Parents of students who petitioned to graduate this May will receive a mailed packet in late February. Join the UFMC! The UFMC (United Front Multicultural Center) connects students to USD staff and faculty through community luncheons. Upcoming luncheons include the February Community Lunch Feb. 6 at 12:30 p.m. and the Black Student Luncheon Feb. 14 at 12:30 p.m. UFMC also seeks students to become Rainbow Educators for the Rainbow Educator Program. Alumni Scholarships Alumni & Class Legacy Scholarships are now accepting applications! These scholarships are made up of thousands of small gifts from alumni and student donors, supporting approximately 30 students annually with awards $500–$4000 each. Open to all current and returning undergraduate students with a 3.0 or better GPA. Applications are due by Feb. 28, 2014. Recipients will be notified by May 15 and awarded for 2014-2015 academic year. Apply now!

We C.A.R.E. at USD Campus Assault Resources and Education (C.A.R.E.) is University of San Diego’s primary effort to provide support, resources and education to the student community pertaining to sexual assault and sexual exploitation.
Your student can contact a C.A.R.E. advocate (24 hours, 7 days a week) by calling (619) 260-2222 to receive immediate assistance. When your student calls, s/he should ask to speak to a Campus Assault Resources Education (C.A.R.E.) Advocate or Public Safety representative. The Great E-Waste Collection Day Saturday Mar. 1 in San Diego, CA is E-Waste Collection Day. Clear out your closets and donate old, used or broken electronics to the USD E-Waste Collection Center. You and your student are increasing the Om in your home. Students participating on this day get a great start to clearing out their residential room prior to summer break.
