Internship

This course provides practical experience and an opportunity for students to apply skills learned in the classroom to a working environment as they work as interns in law firms, corporations, legal clinics, and government agencies. In addition to performing legal research, interns may interview clients, draft pleadings, interrogatories, and motions, attend and summarize depositions; prepare corporate documents, assist with discovery; draft demand letters and point and authorities; and attend trials and arbitration hearings.  A classroom component prepares students for permanent employment by drafting a resume and job plan, practicing interviewing skills, and learning about ethical issues and law office procedures and policies.

Internships are non-paid and are assigned by the Program Office. Students keep time sheets which reflect hours worked and internship duties.
