Cowles Mountain

Ditch your tanning oil and towel and mix it up on a short trek to the highest point in San Diego!  At 1520 feet, Cowles Mountain Peak will be sure to offer you a perspective of San Diego that is impossible to experience from sea level.

This 3-miles round trip hike is a perfect challenge for any level of hiker and the 360-view at the top will leave you in awe of this diverse city we call home.  Just remember your water, sturdy shoes, and a desire to explore just another facet of San Diego.

Cowles mountain is actually pronounced "coals" mountain, however not many people pronounce it that way. – Fred Myrtle
