Budget & Grant Proposal Analyst

Leisa Rodriguez joined the University of San Diego’s Office of Sponsored Programs in December 2016.  As the Budget and Grant Proposal Analyst for the College of Arts and Sciences, she collaborates with the College faculty to develop proposals, budgets and budget narratives, critically reviewing agency guidelines to ensure compliance with University policy and agency regulations. Ms. Rodriguez provides consultation and training in grant preparation, submission and management for the College PI’s, postdoctoral scholars, graduate students, and administrators. She is the primary liaison between the Office of Sponsored Programs and the College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Office on all grants and contracts related issues. In this role, she works closely with the College Budget and Special Projects Manager ensuring accurate management of funds throughout the life of the grant. 

Ms. Rodriguez has over 25 years’ experience in higher education beginning in the Bursar’s Office at the University of California, San Diego serving as the Office Manager. She spent the last 18 years as the Grants and Contracts Manager and later as the Director of Business Operations and Finance, managing over 100 complex grants and contracts from “cradle-to-grave” for the largest research unit at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  Rodriguez received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and her MBA from Touro University Worldwide. 

Ms. Rodriguez is an active member of the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA).
