Director

Traci Merrill joined the University of San Diego in August 1990 and currently serves as the Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs. She is responsible for the direction and overall management of all pre-award grant and contract administration and post-award non-financial administration.  She provides leadership for incorporating national best practices into institutional policies and procedures to ensure compliance with agency terms and conditions and university policy.

Ms. Merrill is an active member of the National Council of University Research Administrators, National Organization of Research Development Professionals and Inter Mountain University Research Administration. She is a member of the Cayuse Customer Advisory Board and has been responsible for implementation of the Cayuse Research Suite.  She serves on a number of university committees including the University Research Council and Institutional Review Board, is the institutional representative for the American Council on Education and is an active volunteer with the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation.

She is a past member of NCURA Education and Professional Development Committee.

 Ms. Merrill served as Assistant Director, Assistant Director of Post Award and Associate Director in the Office of Sponsored Programs.  In 2014, she was appointed to her current role as Director.

 Ms. Merrill holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Diego State University and a Master of Education from the University of San Diego.  She has been a Certified Research Administrator since 2010.
