Once you have confirmed your enrollment and submitted your deposit through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, you are officially a Torero! You will need to complete several required steps and important tasks prior to registering for courses and attending the first day of classes.

You can view your progress on your New Student Checklist in your MySanDiego Portal (as pictured). A general checklist, helpful hints, and relevant resources are included below for your reference.

If you have any questions, please email firstreg@sandiego.edu.

  1. Claim your USDOne user account and email address.
    • Step-by-step directions are available to assist you in claiming your USDOne account. Contact the ITS Help Desk if you need assistance or are having any trouble claiming your USDOne account.
    • You are encouraged to wait 24 hours before completing the next items on the checklist to ensure your account is active in all USD systems. Be sure to check your USD email regularly for important updates and information, as this is the primary email USD will use to communicate with you.
  2. Take the math and foreign language placement exams, if necessary.
  3. Complete the First-Year Advising Questionnaire.
    • Log in to your MySanDiego Portal and navigate to your New Student Checklist to complete this questionnaire.
  4. Complete the on-campus housing application, available in your MySanDeigo Portal.
    • For more information about housing, please visit the Residential Life website.
  5. Send scores for any AP/IB tests you have taken and official final high school transcripts. Please also send in official transcripts for any college coursework you may have attempted.
  6. Learn about Student Wellness resources and complete wellness requirements.
    • Submit required TB Screening Questionnaire and immunization forms.
      • Log in to your MyWellness portal to complete the Tuberculosis Screening Questionnaire, enter the dates of your immunizations, and upload your records. Step-by-step directions are available to guide you.
      • The Student Health Center will review your submitted documentation for verification typically within 48 hours. You will be notified via secure message if any additional documentation is needed. For questions or concerns regarding your submission, please send a secure message to the Immunization Coordinator. Once all of your requirements are met, your immunization hold will be lifted.
      • Contact the Student Health Center with any questions about immunization requirements.
    • Health Insurance: All full-time students are required to carry health insurance. Learn more about USD's health insurance requirements, then submit an online form to actively enroll in or waive the USD Health Insurance Plan by February 6, 2019. Failure to take action by the deadline will result in automatic enrollment, in which case you will be responsible for the health insurance premium billed to your student account.
    • Wellness Education Courses: As part of our commitment to the well-being of our students and the larger USD community, and to remain in compliance with federally mandated requirements (including the Federal Campus Sexual Violence Elimination (SaVE) Act), all new undergraduate students are required to complete an online prevention-based wellness education course series which includes AlcoholEdu and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates.
      • For instructions, deadlines, and more information about this course requirement, please visit the New Student Education website.
      • A $250 noncompliance fee will be assessed to students who do not fully comply with the course requirements by the deadlines.
    • If you have an on-going psychological or health condition, need regular access to prescription medication, or have a documented disability requesting accommodation, please contact wellness@sandiego.edu prior to arriving on campus.
  7. Explore your MySanDiego Portal and complete the following items on your New Student Checklist:
    • Submit photos for your Torero ID Card.
    • Complete all Financial Aid requirements, if applicable. Contact the One Stop Student Center if you have questions about your financial aid award, bill, or student account.
    • Complete your optional FERPA Authorizations
  8. International students only: Submit all required documents for the Form I-20.
    • You can download the necessary forms to apply for your student visa online. Contact Undergraduate Admissions with any questions about the Form I-20.
