Practical Training

The deadline for Spring 2007 graduates to apply for post-completion OPT is Friday, May 11th, 2007.

An F-1 student may wish to engage in temporary employment to gain work experience in his or her field of study. This kind of employment is called practical training.

There are two types of practical training, Optional Practical Training (OPT) and Curricular Practical Training (CPT). Students must obtain permission for this kind of employment.
