Year: Junior
Hometown: Snohomish, WA
Major: Psychology, minoring in English and Business Administration

Dream Job After College: Start my own adventure therapy treatment center. Ideally working with patients suffering from long-term depression and anxiety. Using outdoor activities (high adrenaline) to help them find peace.

Why did you join the guide program? I wanted to surround myself with other outdoor oriented individuals

I am adventurous because…I was born this way…hey!

Favorite trip/outdoor activity: Bare backing wild stallions, with rock- climbing as a close second.

Favorite National Park: North Cascades (WA)

Favorite outdoor location in San Diego: Mount Woodson area, or Torrey Pines

Favorite place to hang out on campus: Outdoor Adventure Center!

Weirdest food you have created and/or ate: S’maco- (s’more taco)

Craziest trip experience: 6 pitch classic crack climb in WA

Worst injury from an outdoor trip: My pride (knock on wood for physical injuries)

If you could go one place in the world where would you go? Patagonia

Funniest outdoor trip experience: Hiking with my dad when I was 5 years old, on ice and snow and I slipped in frozen dog poop. I've heard the story too many times so I can't tell if I actually remember it or not, my "memory" of my 5 year old self doing this is funny.

What is one thing people don’t know about you? I didn’t go outside one summer because I was afraid of trees.

What certifications and trainings do you have: Top rope certified- professional climbing guide, Wilderness First Responder, First Aid.

Favorite piece of outdoor gear: Gri-Gri 2 or Hubba Hubba tent. Gear so nice they named it twice.

What are five things you wish you knew prior to starting college?

  • The freshman 15 can affect all
  • San Diego transit system is not efficient nor clear
  • Use a U-lock for bikes
  • Just by living in SD does not guarantee pro-surfer status
  • It isn’t cool to say ‘hella’
