Tri-Military Ball

On April 12, 2008, the San Diego NROTC unit, together with the San Diego ROTC units of the Army and the Air Force, held its annual Joint Military Ball at the Town and Country Hotel. Commanding Officers of the Army, Air Force and Navy ROTC Units (Lieutenant Colonel Kent R. Rideout, Colonel Michael A. Fleck, and Captain Mark C. Wooley respectively) presided over the events. The current Commanding Officer for Marine Corps Installations West, Major General Michael Lehnert, served as the Guest of Honor.

Maj. Gen. Lehnert gave an engaging speech about government partisanship and the role of the military. Having served many presidents before, some democrats and others republican, Maj.Gen. Lehnert emphasized the importance of military duty over political beliefs. He stated that military personnel goes above the partisanship of the government, and regardless of who is in power and their political affiliation, it is our job to follow their orders and perform our duties.
