Junior Officer Instructor

LT Jorge M. Fuentes hails from Aibonito, Puerto Rico. LT Fuentes graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. 

Following graduation from the Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island, LT Fuentes reported to the USS INGRAHAM (FFG 61) in Everett, Washington where he served as the Fire Control Officer and Legal Officer. Onboard USS INGRAHAM, LT Fuentes completed a 4th Fleet Deployment in conjunction with the US Coast Guard performing narcotics intervention operations in Central and South America. Following his tour on the USS INGRAHAM, LT Fuentes reported to Commander, Destroyer Squadron TWO in Norfolk, Virginia where he served as the Assistant Operations Officer and Training Officer. While serving at Destroyer Squadron TWO, LT Fuentes deployed to the: Fleet Forces, 6th Fleet and 5th Fleet areas of operations in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. While deployed to the Middle East, LT Fuentes served as a Navy Liaison Officer to Commander, Destroyer Squadron Fifty.

Ashore LT Fuentes served as the Flag Aide to the 65th President of the Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV). LT Fuentes is currently assigned as Assistant of the Professor of Naval Sciences at the NROTC San Diego Consortium. LT Fuentes personal awards include the Navy and Marine Achievement Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards).
