Junior Officer Instructor

LT Jorge Fuentes hails from Aibonito, Puerto Rico. He is a 2010 graduate of the University of Puerto Rico where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and graduate with honors. He graduated Officer Candidate School in Rhode Island in March 2011. He assumed the role of Officer Instructor at the NROTC San Diego Consortium on July 2016. LT Fuentes is a designated Surface Warfare Officer and has served at sea as the: Ordinance Officer and Legal Officer onboard USS INGRAHAM (FFG 61) out of Everett, WA and as the Assistant Operations Officer for Commander, Destroyer Squadron TWO out of Norfolk, VA. LT Fuentes ashore assignments include: Flag Aide to RADM Sam Perez, President of the Board of Inspection and Survey out of Little Creek, VA. LT Fuentes has been deployed to the 3nd, 5th, 6th and Fleet Forces Areas of responsibilities. LT Fuentes also served as a Liaison Officer for the Commander, Destroyer Squadron TWO at Commander, Destroyer Squadron FIFTY In Bahrain for several operations in the 5th fleet AOR. LT Fuentes ashore assignment as a Flag Aide took him onboard 15 INSURV Inspections, including two sea trials for the DDG 1000 and the LCS program. LT Fuentes currently resides in Eastlake with his family and is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Global Leadership from the University of San Diego.
