Executive Officer

CDR Steve Dickerson hails from Liberty, Missouri.  He enlisted in the Navy January 1990 and entered the Naval Nuclear Propulsion pipeline.  During his training, he was selected for BOOST (Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training) which led to an NROTC scholarship.  He graduated from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Spanish where he was selected for Aviation. 

CDR Dickerson earned his wings in August 1997 and his sea-duty tours included two tours at Helicopter Squadron Antisubmarine Light (HSL) 45, a tour as the AIRBOSS in USS DUBUQUE (LPD 8).  His deployments included a Western Pacific (WESTPAC) deployment with USS ANTIETEM (CG-47) and Southern Pacific (SOUTHPAC) operations with USS RODNEY M. DAVIS (FFG-60) and USS DAVID R. RAY (DD-971).  He conducted good will operations in USS INGRAHAM (FFG-61) and USS CURTS (FFG-38), a Commissioning Detachment for USS LASSEN (DDG-82), and homeport change with the USS CAPE ST. GEORGE (CG-71) through the Panama Canal.  Additionally, he completed two GSA’s (Global War on Terrorism Support Augmentation.) The first was to Al Udeid Airbase Qatar working in the CAOC (Combined Air and Space Operations Center) and the second at the Manas Transit Center, Kyrgyzstan as the Officer in Charge of the NAVCENTFWDHQ Kyrgyzstan.

His shore duty tours were as an instructor at the Fleet Replenishment Squadron HSL-41 and as the Regional Director for the Center for Personal and Professional Development where he taught Officer Leadership and earned his MTS (Master Training Specialist) qualification.

CDR Dickerson earned a Master of Science in Global Leadership with an emphasis in Project Management from the University of San Diego and completed the Marine Corps Lean Six Sigma Black Belt program.  He is currently assigned as the Executive Officer for San Diego ROTC.

His personal awards include a Meritorious Service Medal (2), Joint Commendation Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2).  CDR Dickerson is married to the former Staci LeFebvre of Beaverton, Oregon.
