San Diego State University NROTC 25th year Anniversary
AUGUST 27, 2007

Captain (CAPT) Mark Woolley, Commanding Officer, Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) Unit, San Diego presented Dr. Joyce Gattas, Dean of the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts, San Diego State University (SDSU), with a plaque. The plaque, which included pictures of the unit in 1982 and today, commemorated the 25-year anniversary of the establishment of the NROTC Unit at San Diego State University.
The NROTC unit is within the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts (PFSA) at San Diego State and shares a common theme of “Linking College, Community, and Career.”
There are 52 NROTC units across the country on university campuses. The mission of NROTC is develop Battalion members morally, mentally, and physically, imbue them with the highest ideals of duty, honor and loyalty with the core values of honor, courage and commitment in order to commission college graduates as officers in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
