IPJ to Welcome Mandela Fellows This Summer
The Institute for Peace and Justice (IPJ) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting 25 young leaders from 20 African countries, from June 16 to July 31, 2017, as part of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, a flagship program of the Young African Leadership Initiative. Fellows will engage in academic coursework, leadership training, networking opportunities and service learning.
The University of San Diego (USD) is one of 38 universities, and the only university in Southern California, selected to host the Mandela Fellows. The focus of this summer’s residency at USD is leadership and social entrepreneurship. The IPJ is working with the San Diego Diplomacy Council and USD's Center for Peace and Commerce and School of Leadership and Education Studies to deliver a unique and innovative residency experience for these young leaders.
This program is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State and IREX.
