| Message | San Diego Daily Transcript -- A measure of the local economy, compiled by USD economics professor Alan Gin, posted a marked increase in September, the strongest seen in the last six month. The index rose by 1 percent in September -- the sixth consecutive monthly increase -- lifted in large part by another sharp uptick in consumer confidence.
Although September marks the fifth straight month that consumer confidence has led the index, it remains to be seen whether that confidence will translate into consumer spending, said USD economics professor Alan Gin, who compiles the index. (Full Story) |
