SAN DIEGO (September 7, 2018) – University of San Diego (USD) School of Law Alumna Judge Ana España, ’82 (JD), was featured in the Los Angeles Daily Journal on September 5, 2018, regarding her court experiences with repeat juvenile offenders. She typically converses with them, asking if they enjoy Juvenile Hall because they’re back in her court; they usually respond no. “I like having those kinds of conversations with them to let them know that they do have the ability to change the course of their life,” she said. Many people that have worked with Judge España can all agree that she is an impartial judge who does her best to give a positive push to these children and their parents.

Judge España is a judge for the Superior Court of San Diego County in California, appointed by Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2018. She is a graduate of the USD School of Law and also received her undergraduate degree from USD.
