Governor Brown Appoints USD School of Law Alumna Kristen Kane ’08 (JD), ’10 (LLM) to the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration

SACRAMENTO (October 4, 2017) - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. announced this week the appointment of University of San Diego (USD) School of Law alumna Kristen Kane, ’08 (JD), 10 (LLM), as the chief counsel to the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration’s Office of Tax Appeals, where she will serve as acting director.

Kane has served as deputy director of the California Competes Tax Credit Program at the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) since 2016. Kane served as tax counsel at the California Franchise Tax Board from 2010 to 2016, where she was a graduate legal assistant in 2008. She was an attorney at the Legal Aid Society of San Diego from 2009 to 2010.
