U-T San Diego -- Powered by a $1.25 million grant from the National Science Foundation, the University of San Diego and its allies are analyzing what regional trendsetters in business, politics and other endeavors think about global warming so they can fashion messages that resonate best and find the most effective people to deliver them.
"The target we chose was 'key influentials,' the community leaders, the business leaders, the elected leaders — the people who are going to make impacts now," said Michel Boudrias, a marine scientist at USD. "We are going to have to look for different ways of connecting to this audience than putting together a curriculum for K-12. That is not going to work if I go to the head of a major company in town."
