SAN DIEGO (December 11, 2018) – University of San Diego (USD) School of Law alumnus Curtis Jackson, ’18 (JD), has been appointed to a non-profit charter school system in Los Angeles County named Alliance College-Ready Public Schools.

The school system is the largest charter school network in Los Angeles, larger than 75 percent of all school districts in California, and has 13,000 students in 25 high-performing, tuition-free high school and middle school academies. 98 percent of the students are low-income Latinos and African Americans, and 95 percent graduate and are accepted to colleges. Alliance schools have been recognized among the best in the nation by US News & World Report, Newsweek, the U.S. Department of Education and the California Department of Education.

Jackson is currently a real estate manager for the City of Carlsbad and three years prior, he was property manager for the City of Oceanside. He serves as chief of staff to the Western Regional Black Law Students Association (WRBLSA), a position he has held since 2017. He received his Juris Doctor from USD School of Law and served as co-president of Black Law Students Association (BLSA), a position he held his final year (Jackson joined the organization his 1L year and was vice-president his 2L year).
