USD Study Abroad: Toreros Go Around the World

Studying while living abroad — or is it living while studying abroad? Either way, the majority of University of San Diego undergraduate students seize this wonderful opportunity to travel to another country, absorb a new culture, try different food, meet new people and learn another language.

The end result, of course, are the memories that last a lifetime and the personal growth that comes from such an adventure.

Students at USD can study abroad in more than 30 countries for a year, a semester, in the summer or during the January intersession — and business students can even pursue a dual degree program that includes up to two years abroad — and earn USD credit in more than 80 different programs. There’s everything from USD’s own permanent facility, the Madrid Center, a special Second-Year Experience Abroad trip that’s only open to sophomore students, to a study abroad experience USD is connected to called Semester at Sea, in which you’ll take classes aboard a cruise ship!

Consistently ranked among the nation’s top institutions for undergraduate study abroad student participation percentage by the Institute of International Education’s annual Open Door Data Report, USD’s study abroad program is a must for prospective students and parents to inquire about during a campus visit, during orientation weekend or while perusing the website.

Check out the USD Study Abroad Instagram account, @usdstudyabroad, which captures students’ cherished moments on their respective journeys. Truly, a picture is worth a thousand words, but the experience of actually being there is priceless!
